Way more of a guitar album than 2005's Rapture-influenced 'With Us, Not At Us', M&M wears its 90's indie-rock heart on its sleeve. One catches whiffs of Pavement, Archers of Loaf, and Guided by Voices throughout the album as well as the more familiar drum machines and synthesizers TRG is known for. Imagine taking GbV's 'Bee Thousand', Sebadoh's 'III', and Pavement's 'Slanted & Enchanted' (which all saw expanded re-releases in the past years) and filtering it through a couple of kids that like LCD Soundsystem as much as any band on the Sub-pop or Matador roster circa 1996.
